Insecurities in north to put horrible impacts on neighboring provinces

By: Suraya Raiszada

As peace efforts have been accelerated in national and international level, a number of provinces in the country’s north have recently witnessed increasing insecurities. Afghan military experts and representatives of people in national assembly believe that continued insecurities in the country’s north will put horrible impacts on neighboring provinces.
Meanwhile, representatives of people in lower house of parliament have said mobility of Taliban has increased in a number of provinces in the country’s north in particular Faryab, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul, Urzgan and Badakhshan, asking the government to pay serious attention to the provinces.
According to representatives of people in parliament, Taliban have now received modern weapons and ammunition; therefore, they have increased their attacks on ANDSF in the respective provinces, causing heavy casualties of security forces personnel and civilians.
Following increasing insecurities in the country’s north, first vice president Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum informed of his participation in battlefield, insisting on suppressing the enemies.
“Taliban wants to intensify their attacks to get further concessions in peace talks,” Dostum said.
Meanwhile, officials for ministry of defense have informed of particular preparations for maintaining security in a number of provinces of the country.
According to the MoD officials, currently ANDSF operations are underway in a number of provinces as Ghazni, Urzgan, Badakhshan, Kunduz, Faryab and Farah provinces.
Afghan military experts told The Kabul Times correspondent that continued defeat of armed insurgents in battlefield has increased sense of revenge among armed insurgents.
“Experiences are showing that armed opponent individuals have always tried to create insecurity in the country in particular strategic provinces. To control their mobility, Afghanistan government should further strengthen its forces in the field of intelligence,” said Hadi Khalid, an Afghan military expert.
Stressing on close coordination between the country’s defense and security organs, Khalid said one of the most mechanisms that could weaken enemies in reaching their goals was the creation of coordination between security organs as close coordination could result in weakening enemy’s morale in battlefield.
Pointing to recent insecurities in a number of the country’s northern provinces, Khalid said: “Fortunately Afghanistan is a good position in the world and region as it has now organized military forces; therefore, big powers of the world would like to cooperate Afghanistan in maintaining security.”
He added anything which was questionable among the people Afghanistan was the increasing mobility of enemies in a number of provinces despite of continued military operations by the country’s ANDSF, asking the country’s defense and security organs to dispatch further enforcement for deployment when they cleaned up an area.
This comes amid visit of the country’s defense and security officials and US general commander for Afghanistan to the country’s northern provinces to review and assess security situation of the provinces.
Officials for the ministry of defense say Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) are fully ready to repulse enemies’ attacks and provide better security to the people of Afghanistan.
