India finances two road projects in Afghanistan

KABUL: An agreement was signed between Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Vinay Kumar and Deputy Finance Minister Abdul Habib Zadran, which according to it India will provide $10.8 million for the construction of the Band-e-Amir-Yakawalang and the Mazar-e-Sharif Airport roads.
Addressing the signing ceremony, the Indian Ambassador to Kabul said Afghanistan was his country’s strategic partner and the agreement would further expand the bilateral relationship. He hoped the two projects, specially the Band-e-Amir-Yakawlang road construction, would help improve the tourism industry in Afghanistan.
