KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani attended an inauguration ceremony of the library and archive section of Afghanistan historical researches center, the Presidential Palace said in a statement the other day.
According to the statement, thanking the president for his special attention to the history and country’s historical monuments and relics, the presidential senior advisor Abdul Ghafour Lewal handed over a number of Afghanistan’s historical manuscripts that has been prepared in cooperation with Afghanistan’s historical studies center in London.
Appreciating Lewal’s efforts, the president said that if we didn’t know our country’s history, we will repeat past mistakes.
The president added lack of proper understanding about Afghanistan annoys me.
He clarified that we won’t know how to use resources and assets if we don’t understand about Afghanistan.
The president instructed the ministry of higher education and Kabul University to establish a joint translation center so the works are translated to Afghanistan’s languages, the statement added.
Likewise, President Ghani and Mohammad Seddiq Patman handed over two albums consist of Afghanistan’s historical personalities and areas to the archive.
