Herat, Ghor and Badghis IDPs need more aids, CE

KABUL: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, chairing a meeting of the Counter-Disaster High Council said the displaced people of Herat, Ghor and Badghis provinces should be provided with fundamental aids, his office reported in a statement the other day.
The sent delegation to assess the situation of the people who fled the recent insecurities and droughts from the said provinces, shared its report with the Chief Executive and said up to 11,954 people have been displaced by insecurities and droughts from Herat, Ghor and Badghis provinces and that they have been provided with some primary aids including edible and cash assistances, the statement said. The delegation said that the World Food Organization aids process were also going on for up to 18,000 households, said the statement adding 18,000 households have earlier been benefited the WFP aids in the vulnerable areas. The CE asked for providing basic assistances to the displaced people and added that displaced persons of Herat, Ghor and Badghis provinces should be provided with enough aids and potable waters and no negligence would be accepted in this regard.
