KABUL: Reacting to a recent video posted in social media showing Taliban destroying an administrative building in Anar Darah district in western Farah province, first Vice President Amrullah Saleh said that hedging and betting on terrorist won’t work, asking UN to raise their voice.
“Taliban dynamited a civilian compound in a district in Farah. A group with staying power or belief in people won’t do this. Hedging & betting on terrorist groups won’t work. Doha & journalists must fly this video in their face. @unafghanistan raise your voice please,” VP Saleh tweeted yesterday. This comes as late in April, President Ghani said that Taliban militants have caused $1 billion damage to infrastructure in Afghanistan in one year. President Ghani mentioned recent destruction of two major bridges in Arghandab district of Kandahar province as an instance of Taliban damaging infrastructure.
