Girl school building inaugurated in Kandahar

KANDAHAR: A girl school building was inaugurated in the country’s southern province of Kandahar, a statement from the provincial press office said the other day.
Thousands of female students would get enrolled in the school, after rebuilding project completed, the statement said.
Earlier, due to lack of classrooms, children were studying their lessons under the tents and outdoors, the statement added.
Japan, through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR), has spent $250,000 to build the school, according to the statement.
Kandahar Education Spokesperson Nazar Mohammad Samim said that the new building of Mirza Ahmad Girls’ High School in Kandahar has twelve classrooms, laboratories and libraries, offices, and other necessities.
The girls’ school opens at a time while the Islamic Emirate announces that efforts were underway to finalize the reopening of girls’ schools all over the country.
