EU supports valid, transparent elections in Afghanistan

KABUL: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in a meeting with the EU ambassador to Afghanistan discussed some issues on agenda, his office said in a statement, the other day.
At the meeting which was held at the Spidar Palace, both sides spoke about peace negotiations and bilateral cooperation between Afghanistan and European Union, said the statement.
The country’s chief executive called peace the willing of the people of Afghanistan and expressed his support to a transparent and fair presidential election in the country.
Mutually, the EU ambassador to Afghanistan said peace was a need of the Afghan people and emphasized on a transparent election process in order to institutionalize democracy in the country.
