Egypt to expand cooperation with Afghanistan

KABUL: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and Egyptian Ambassador to Afghanistan, Mr. Hany Salah in a meeting at the Sapidar Palace discussed issues of mutual interests, his office said the other day.
The CE praised the ambassador for his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan, particularly in providing scholarships for the Afghan students and called the relation between the two countries as optimistic and reiterated the expansion and strengthening of relation between the two countries, the statement added.
Dr. Abdullah said Jamia Al-Azhar (the Egyptian well-known and old religious university) could play effective role in the peace and reconciliation process with Afghanistan, according to the statement. Meanwhile, the Egyptian ambassador to Kabul called Afghanistan a friend of his country and assured of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the statement said.
