KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands on Saturday evening on the sideline of the 56th Munich Security Conference and discussed the Afghan peace process, role of Netherlands in the framework of Resolute Support Mission.
Talking over efforts to end the ongoing violence in Afghanistan, both sides said that Taliban should accept the Afghan people’s demand for sustainable peace and stressed that the peace process should move forward with the Afghan government owning and leading it, the statement from the presidential press office told The Kabul Times daily.
The two leaders also discussed the role of Dutch troops to train, advise and assist the Afghan Defense and Security forces, the statement added.
President Ghani asked Netherlands to cooperate the share its successful experiences in mining and agriculture with Afghanistan.
Prime Minister Rutte assured that his country would continue to cooperate with Afghanistan within the framework of the Resolute Support Mission, according to the statement.
