KABUL: Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Dr. Abdullah Abdullah has arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Governments’, a statement from the CE press office said yesterday.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Abdukhakimov and other officials received Dr. Abdullah at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.
Current issues on the agenda of the SCO Council of Heads of Governments’, as well as prospects for further strengthening and developing cooperation within the organization will be discussed at the prestigious event to be held on November 1-2, in Tashkent.
At the meeting, heads of governments will also exchange views on pressing issues of the international and regional agenda. Following the talks, it is expected to sign documents aimed at further expanding cooperation within the SCO.
The Chief Executive will meet prime ministers of Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iranian vice president, Indian Defense Minister, SCO Secretary General and a number of high-ranking officials of some other countries, the statement added.
