KABUL: Chief Executive (CE) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and Resolute Support Mission Commander Gen. Austin Scott Miller have discussed peace and security in Afghanistan, a statement said.
The ECO office said Gen. Miller called on Abdullah on Saturday afternoon. The two sides discussed the developments in peace negotiations and the security situation besides exchanging views on other issues, the statement from CE press office said yesterday.
Dr. Abdullah promised the government would continue supporting efforts to achieve a lasting and just peace. The government was fully behind its armed forces and was ready to defend the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, he said.
Gen. Miller reaffirmed  NATO’s commitment to peace in the war-hit country.
