KABUL: Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, on Monday chaired the Council of Ministers Economic Committee meeting, a statement from his office said.
At the outset, the ministry of foreign briefed the CE about the importance of the SAARC organization’s economic and social importance and said the related ministries should attend its meetings, the statement said.
“Some ministries don’t take the meetings of the SAARC organization serious and that Afghanistan doesn’t take serious the implementation of the plans being discussed in the meetings,” said the ministry’s report shared with the meeting members.
The country’s Chief Executive asked the related ministries to send a professional individual to the SAARC meeting and expand cooperation with the organization.
For more coordination, the ministry of foreign should secure link with the secretariat directorate of the council of ministers in relation to participation in the SAARC meetings or following the organization related projects in Afghanistan, the statement added.
The meeting discussed many other issues related to agenda, including transparently distribution of lands among the investors in the industrial townships, as the ministry of commerce and industries provided the meeting with a report about distribution of nine industrial townships and readiness of 13 others for distribution among the investors.
Dr. Abdullah said no one can create obstacle before the private sector and that lands should be distributed easily among the investors, the statement said.
