KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met yesterday with provincial governors of six provinces which are part of eight economic zones of the country.
In the meeting, President Ghani briefed them with economic and development visions as well as capacities for balanced development for Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, Nuristan, Panjshir and Badakhshan provinces.
Praising governors of the respective provinces for management of development programs, the country’s President said there should be precision information from each province so that natural treasures, development capacities, exportable agricultural products, income resources and human capacities should be clarified, asking the governors to make priorities of their provinces clear for the coming year.
President Ghani also asked governors of the respective provinces to pay further attention to management of waters, protection of jungles, development of mines and income projects and do make program for creation of capacity for protection and prevention from cutting jungles in their provinces.
Stressing on agricultural development in the provinces, the country’s President said that enhancement of agricultural capacities, specification of exportable products in each province, management of orchards and investment on valuable chain would result in economic development in the country. The country’s President also said that relations between administrative units should be strengthened and further attention should be paid to weak points in governance.
