Deputy PM instructs relevant depts to address flood victims’ problems

KABUL: First Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, expressed concern over the recent devastating floods and tasked the relevant departments for addressing the victims’ problems, a statement from his office said the other day.
He instructed the relevant organs for providing urgent assistance to the families suffered by the recent heavy rainfall and flash floods across the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister also extended his condolences and sympathy to the flood-affected families and called on the related departments to provide emergency aids to them countrywide, according to the statement.
Torrential rainfall floods inflected financial losses and casualties, to hundreds of families in some provinces of the country.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate called on the international organizations for providing assistance to the families affected by the recent harsh floods.
Pakistani Ambassador to Kabul said his country was prepared for the transfer of the first humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
Mansoor Ahmad Khan Pakistan ambassador to Kabul said on his Twitter account that his country’s first humanitarian aid consignment has arrived in Kabul on Saturday. The aid contains medicine and food and will be distributed to the victims of the recent floods in Afghanistan.
