Dar al-Iftaa of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan established

KABUL: The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan issued a decree requiring the establishment of the Dar al-Iftaa or the Fatwa Council of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, a statement from the Presidential Office said Tuesday.
The Dar al-Iftaa or the Fatwa Council would be the only source of issuing religious fatwa and would be independent in term of its formation and budget, the statement said.
The decree obliged the ministry of justice to provide and complete the process of the legislative documents of the Fatwa Council of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in coordination with the related organs, according to the statement.
