Czech Republic to continue supporting Afghan girls’ education

KABUL: Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kabul has signed an agreement with a private NGO “Relief Organization for Afghan Women and Children (ROAWC)” to support the girlsschools at the capital Kabul.

Czech Ambassador Jiri Baloun, while signing the awarded project told to The Kabul Times that the Czech Republic is ready to contribute to stability and relief in Afghanistan and  is committed to support girls’ education in Afghanistan. This time the Embassy supported the Manochehri Girls’ High School and equipped a computer lab with 15 computers and additional accessories.

The aim of this project is to facilitate the students withmodern equipment and to build their capacities” added Ambassador.  Since 2007 the Czech Republic is supporting Afghanistan in various aspects

The Czech Republic has had troops in Afghanistan for many years under international collation (ISAF, RSM) and also until 2013, PRT Team in Logar provinceThe Czech PRT Team made girl schoolshospitalsdairy farm and milk collectioncenter in Logar province to worth of 25 million USD. 

Development Assistance and bilateral Economic Cooperation between Czech Republic and Afghanistan is around 3 million USD every year to Afghanistan in following areas

▪ Trust fund
▪ IoM
▪ Small Scale projects

 Ambassador assured that his country will continue itssupport for the development of the country.

Meanwhile director in charge of the ‘(ROAWC)’ NGsaidthat they have assisted a number of schools in Kabul throughdirect support of the Czech Republic and the process would becontinuedaiming to improve girls’ education in Afghanistan.
