KABUL: Chaired by Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the National Procurement Commission, NPC late on Monday, approved 53 procurement issues including fighting coronavirus, a statement from the presidential palace said Tuesday.
The issue of fighting coronavirus was shared by the country’s ministry of public health, with other issues from other related ministries and officials attended in the meeting, the statement said.
Request on the approval of a single source procurement methods selection to provide and procure the required materials and things for the standard equipment of the isolation national center in the country’s center and zones to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus, presented by the Ministry of Public Health, was approved at the meeting.
Other procurement issues including contract on construction of 7.8 km roads in Logar province, hiring partner institutions for the country’s northern zone (Smanagan and Sar-e-Pul), which was presented by the Ministry of Rehabilitation and Rural Development, contract of Qaisar-Laman’s 82 km roads relating to the Ministry of Transport and scores of others have also been approved by the NPC meeting, said the statement. From the contracts, extension of the Shah-Arus dam contract period was also approved by the NPC meeting, during which, the country’s president noted that completion of the Shah-Arus dam was one of the old desires of the people of Afghanistan and instructed the water arrangement national authority for the project’s work completion duly, according to the statement.
