KABUL: Acting Minister of Information and Culture attended a ceremony in which a contract on development of the new national museum design was signed, BNA reported the other day.
The contract was signed by Jawad Paykar, acting minister of urban development and land and representative of the engineering company of AV62, the agency said.
Hamidullah Farooqi, the president legal advisor and the Kabul University rector, Spanish ambassador to Afghanistan, and other related officials have attended the ceremony, in which, at the outset head of the AV62 complex spoke about the new design of the national museum and assured of his efforts for better work in this field, the agency added.
Meantime, the acting minister of information and Culture, Ms. Hasina Safi thanked the ministry of urban development and land for developing procurement works of the project and said the new building of museum design should be carried out in cooperation with its staffs, according to the agency. Head of the national museum of Afghanistan also spoke about the issue and said the design of the new national museum building was expected to be completed within eight months and then the work on construction of the new national museum would be started.
