KABUL: A conference was held to help strengthen peace-building mediation role, here in Kabul, BNA reported the other day. The conference was co-hosted by the office of Mediothek Afghanistan, and the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with name of ‘Strengthen peace-building mediation role’ in Afghanistan and attended by the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture on Youth Affairs, representatives from national and international organizations, peace and mediation experts, civil society activists and youths at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), said the ageeency. The theme of the conference was to strengthen peace-building mediation role in Afghanistan, with the deputy minister, Ajmal Shahpoor saying neither the people nor the government of Afghanistan want a negative and fragile peace in the country, the agency said.
A dignified peace, on which the country’s president has also insisted, is a peace in which, all national capacities including physical, economical and social and political will and capacities were involved and convoy the country’s tranquility and welfare, the agency said. He noted that one of the best ways could replace peace mediation with foreigners and prevent their interferences, is to take the initiation of peace in our hands, particularly using the youth in peace mediation instead of the aliens.
