Collective efforts needed to root out terror

ISIS grads

At least 40 Indian paramilitary police have been killed the other day in a bomb attack by militants on their convoy in Indian-administered Kashmir. Indian Police said that a car filled with explosives had rammed a bus carrying the troops to Srinagar.
Pakistan-based Islamist group Jaish-e-Mohammad said it was behind the attack. It is the deadliest militant attack on Indian forces in Kashmir since the insurgency against Indian rule began in 1989.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah condemned the car suicide attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, saying terrorism is a cancer in the region, and it requires collective efforts to root it out.
“We stand in solidarity with India and condemn the cowardly attack on CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kashmir,” the NUG leaders said. “Terrorists and their sponsors appropriating religious names to commit heinous crimes are but a disgrace to religion and humanity.”
India says that Pakistan has long given safe havens to Jaish-e-Mohammad militants and accused it of having a “direct hand” in Thursday’s attack. It has called for global sanctions against the group and for its leader, Masood Azhar, to be listed as a terrorist by the UN security council.
India has said it will ensure the “complete isolation” of Pakistan too after the suicide attack in Kashmir, claiming to have “incontrovertible evidence” of its neighbor’s involvement.
Indeed, Afghanistan and India are victims of terror from the same source, across the border, and they are required to jointly stand with the rest of the world to fight terrorism in order to be freed from menace of terrorism attacking both nations.
Even today, the region is largely influenced by religious extremism and terrorism. It does not only target the innocent people who suffer because of lack of opportunities for a secure life but also challenge the entire security apparatus within the country.
In fact, the different regional players with the help of the extremists in the country sponsored a mindset that flourished the militancy. The seeds that were sown were bound to turn into trees and bear fruits, which currently we are reaping – there are many factions in the neighboring country that promoting extremism and militancy as the rudimentary and essential ideology.
This cancer will eliminate the region, unless the countries take the proper parameters and promote the unity, moderation and education as well as put further pressures on countries sponsoring terrorism for their own interest.
Afghan nation paid heavy sacrifices in combating terrorism. The militant fighters, mainly the Taliban and ISIS, carried out indiscriminate attacks. Scores of selfless soldiers who were martyred in protecting the rights and dignity of nation and their homeland left their spouses and children behind, which has not only filled them with an outpouring of grief but also left them with great sufferings.
Fighting terrorism is a global objective and the sacrifices made by one nation will affect the global security. A peaceful Afghanistan will contribute to reginal peace and prosperity and vice versa. Afghan people bear the brunt of militancy since terrorist groups carry out indiscriminate attacks. The graph of fatalities is as high as ever and war continues unabated. Afghans fought with bona fide intention to bring peace and stability in the country and region.
It is not only Afghanistan to defeat terrorists, the world, in particularaffected countriesneeded to fight against terrorism so as to secure the region. Otherwise, militancy will continue, and people’s sufferings will not come to an end.
