KABUL: Continuing Afghan government’s support for domestic and foreign investors, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met on Saturday with a group of Chinese investors interested in investing on generating electricity through coal, a statement said.
During the meeting, the group’s officials said they wanted to invest about $ 400 million to generate 300 megawatts of electricity using coal, the presidential palace statement added.
President Ghani, as quoted in the statement, then provided information on Afghanistan’s natural resources and investment opportunities in the field of electricity and directed the Investment Facilitation Unit to conduct the necessary investigations in cooperation with Afghanistan Breshna Company to provide investment opportunities for the group.
