KABUL: Based on decree of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri has been appointed as political deputy and acting minister of foreign affairs. According to the Presidential decree, besides other responsibilities, Chakhansouri will also lead the foreign ministry’s reforms and is obliged to completely implement a range of reforms to improve working quality and capacity within the ministry.
Besides, he is tasked to analyze current situation, evaluate all employees based on fixed standards, review regulations, procedures of the ministry to enhance the effectiveness of the institution and political and consulate agencies, create electronic system, launch international languages test and others tests for the employees, review structures of the ministry based on political and cultural needs of the 21st century and identify capacities based on professionalism, experience and skills to implement goals of the country’s foreign policy.
It is worth mentioning that Chakhansuri has severed in different government and non-government positions, including deputy chief of staff and spokesman for the president.
