KABUL: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, while being accompanied by former acting foreign minister, Salahuddin Rabbani met with the US representative on Afghanistan peace and reconciliation, Dr. Zalmay Khalilzad accompanied by President Trump advisor for South Asia and US ambassador to Afghanistan John Bass a statement said Sunday.
The meeting which was held at the Spidar Palace, both sides discussed peace negotiations and the ways of reaching a lasting and fair peace in the country, a statement from the CE Office received by The Kabul Times, said.
At the meeting the two sides asked for reduction of violence ensuring ceasefire by the Taliban to help restart an intra-Afghan peace dialogue, said the statement.
Both sides also emphasized on the impartiality of the electoral commissions and transparency of the process, according to the statement.
