KABUL: Mirwais Nab and Marta Morgan, Deputy Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan and Canada, held a telephone conversation to discuss the Afghan peace process and issues of mutual interest, a MoFA statement said yesterday.
In this telephone call, the Political Deputy Minister of Afghanistan thanked Canada for its helpful assistance and cooperation to Afghanistan over the past two decades and for pursuing a reasonable and principled stand in the Afghan peace process.
Morgan, as quoted by MoFA statement, reassured Nab that Canada would continue to assist the Afghan government and people, emphasizing has country’s support for the Afghan National and Defense Forces and the peace talks, preserving the achievements of the last two decades and the effective participation of women in the talks.
The two sides also discussed in detail the latest development in the peace talks and the strengthening and expansion of cooperation between the two countries, as well as the technical and legal issues of the Coordination Group and Respond to the victims of PS752 flight.
