Cabinet principally approves MoPW’s strategy

President Ghani chairing cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace

KABUL: Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the cabinet held session at the Presidential Palace the other day, a statement from the president office said.
At the outset, welcoming Hamdullah Mohib, the national security advisor to the cabinet session, the president wished him further successes, according to the statement.
According to the agenda, the justice minister presented railway draft law to the session and said the draft law has been approved in laws’ committee in 11 chapters and 58 articles.
He added execution of the mentioned law, would clarify the activities and legal position of railway administration, the statement added.
After all-out discussions, the cabinet principally approved the railway draft law and tasked the justice minister to review and finalize the draft in a meeting with relevant ministries and administrations to be presided over by presidential office.
Afterward, the justice minister presented the legal documents process draft law to the session, adding it has been approved by laws’ committee in 9 chapters and 60 articles.
The cabinet while approving the draft tasked the justice ministry to amend and finalize the draft in consider with reformative views of general directorate for affairs’ administration.
The minister of justice presented sport and physical education draft law in which it was also principally confirmed by the cabinet.
Likewise, the minister of public works presented his ministry’s strategy for 2019-2023.
He said that the strategy aimed to change Afghanistan into a regional transit and trade hub and it would focus on three main points of sustainable investment, access, linking and safety of roads.
While appreciating the ministry of public works (MoPW) initiative, the cabinet principally approved the mentioned strategy.
Furthermore, acting minister of information and culture presented the ministry’s demand on changing the place of Afghanistan’s treasures exhibition in China to Shenzhen Museum in which it was approved by the cabinet.
Head of Afghanistan land authority presented issues related to transferring land which was approved by the cabinet.
At the end, foreign ministry’s deputy on administration and resources presented 10 international treaties to the session which were approved by the session.
