Cabinet meeting: President asks MoFA to follow migrants’ death in Iran

KABUL: Chairing the cabinet meeting on Monday at the presidential palace which was also attended by provincial governors via the videoconference, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani condoled death of Dr. Ayaz Niazi and extended condolences to the Ulema and family of Shaheed, which lost his life during a terrorist incident on Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan mosque last week.
The president Obama Monday also asked the acting Foreign Minister to seriously follow the burning of a vehicle carrying Afghan citizens in the Iranian city of Yazd through diplomatic channels.
Three Afghans were killed and eight others injured three days ago when their vehicle was set on fire in Yazd province.
President Ghani issued the directives during a Cabinet meeting and asked Hanif Atmar to follow the issue seriously based on diplomatic behavior.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan thanked the First Vice President, the Mayor of Kabul and the governors of the provinces for the better management of the distribution of bread to the needy citizens during lockdowns, and announced the end of the program. The president stated that the next aid would in packages and would have two stages;  First in the districts and then will be distributed in all the provinces.
The meeting continued with discussions on effective implementation of government works and better programs for containing COVID-19 in the country.
