Bawari seeking Japanese support for implementation of cultural projects

KABUL: Bakhtar News Agency, on Tuesday quoted Prof. Mohammad Rasoul Bawari, the Deputy Cultural Minister of Information and Culture for emphasizing on the acceleration of work on the two cultural projects in the country’s central Bamyan province.
During a meeting with the Japanese Embassy Counselor to Kabul, the deputy cultural minister discussed restoration of the Bamyan giant statues and establishment of a cultural center in the province, according to the agency.
While thanking the government of Afghanistan for its condolence on the death of a Japanese citizen in the recent deadly incident in the eastern province of Jalalabad, the Japanese counselor said such incident would not lay negative impact on the two countries relations and that his country would continue cooperation in various fields with Afghanistan, the agency quoted.
Deputy Minister Bawari also spoke about the speeding up of work on the two cultural projects including rebuilding and restoration of the two statues and establishment of a cultural center for the archeologists as well as financial cooperation in the cultural areas with the Japanese diplomat, the agency added.
The deputy minister, meanwhile thanked Japan’s cooperation in different fields and noted that the ministry was ready for providing facilities needed in acceleration of the two cultural projects and other projects being run by Japan in Afghanistan.
