Atmar appointed as acting Minister of Foreign Affairs

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani issuing two decrees appointed Mohammad Hanif Atmar as the acting minister and the nominee for the Ministry Foreign Affairs, a presidential statement said yesterday. Mohammad Hanif Atmar has been one of the most prominent and influential politicians of Afghanistan for the last two decades, who has held multiple high-profile capacities namely Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Education, Interior Affairs as well as National Security Advisor, according to the presidential press office statement. President Ghani has recently made a series of appointments to the MoF, the Ministry of Interior and the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG).
