ANA extensive ops continue on terror strongholds: MoD

Although Taliban have intensified their offensives in a number of provinces, MoD authorities said that ANA operations continue in close coordination with other security partners on terrorist hideouts and trenches. Talking on ANA operations in volatile provinces especially Laghman, Helmand, Kunduz, Baghlan, Ghazni, Maidan, MoD deputy spokesman Fawad Aman said, operations will continue in these areas and ANA troops are in better conditions today and have good achievements.


In these offensives heavy damages and casualties have been inflicted to insurgents as in the wake of their agreement with the US, Taliban have increased their attacks, Aman added.
ANDSF troops specially ANA have full preparedness to repell every possible Taliban attacks. ANDSF are real guardians of their land and bravely defend this people and territory under every circumstances and prevent enemies to disturb security of their people, he went on to say.
Touching commando ops, Aman said fortunately our commando forces enjoy high professional capability and carryout operations successfully in different conditions in different provinces for certain purposes including release of ANDSF captured soldiers as in recent days they managed to release over 50 Afghan prisoners including 8 in Herat and Baghlan and about 40 others in Pashtoon Zarghoon including 19 ANDSF troops.
According to MoD deputy spokesman, in Khameshin, Helmand province as a result of a sudden attack on Taliban and al-Qaeda hideouts 13 al-Qaeda fugitives were killed. The slain persons were killed mine masterminds and also were responsible to train terrorists how to use binuclars during nights. It was a big achievements.
MoD authorities went on to say, ANA troops supported by air forces targeted a hideout of terrorists in Logar province as a result 13 Taliban were eliminated and 8 injured, and their one headquarters was destroyed-these offensives will continue until full elimination of insurgents and destruction of their command and control centers.
Local authorities in Helmand, Ghazni, Wardak, Uruzgan and Baghlan provinces said that anti-Taliban operations were quite effective and successful, improved security situations and reduced ANDSF casualties.
While the above authorities are optimistic on those operations ask the government to carryout other operations with further coordination in insecure provinces.
ANDSF have high combat capability and proved to be useful in improving security situation.
Simultaneous to those operations peace efforts have been intensified at national and international arena.
