KABUL: The Second Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danesh met with newly appointed Qatari ambassador to Kabul here yesterday afternoon, a statement said.
Emphasizing on enhancing bilateral relations, VP Danesh called Qatar key partner of Afghan government in the region, the statement from the VP press office said.
Thanking Qatar’s hosting of peace talks, VP Danesh hoped the talks bear positive results and help end the war in Afghanistan.
Hinting to increasing extremism in Islamic countries, the second vice president emphasized on unity and cooperation among Islamic countries to fight terrorism and extremism.
Meanwhile Qatari ambassador called two countries as close friends and reiterated his country’s support of Afghanistan, according to the statement.
The ambassador also suggested establishment of air corridor between the two countries to help improve bilateral trade and economic ties. The request was warmly welcomed by the second vice president, the statement added.
