All should take part in planting saplings & protecting forests, CE

KABUL: Chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah opened a national campaign on expansion of green belt by planting saplings in Kabul.
In a ceremony held on this occasion, the country’s chief executive first congratulated the National Day of Journalists to all journalists and praised their efforts, sacrifices and bravery.
Chief executive said the national drive for expansion of the country’s green belt needed active part of all, asking all the people to plant saplings and trees.
He considered people’s cooperation with relevant government institutions in greening of the country as significant, hoping that the coming year would be a green year because of continued rainfalls.
The country’s chief executive also asked the people to cooperate with security organs in protection of areas where there were forests and prevent from cutting them.
In the ceremony, minister of agriculture, livestock and irrigation Nasir Ahmad Durani said it was determined that 22 million saplings would be planted countrywide. He informed of providing further facilitations and tractors to farmers during the coming year.
