All displaced families should be provided with emergency aids, Dr. Abdullah

KABUL: Chaired by chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the meeting of refugees and repatriates executive committee was held yesterday at Sapidar Palace.
In the meeting, minister of refugees and repatriates Sayed Hussain Alemi Balkhi by pointing to displacement of families said that more than 3,500 families have been displaced due to continued war in Kunar province. “We need to establish a temporary camp for respective number of displaced families so that they can return their home villages back,” Balkhi said, asking ministry of urban development for necessary cooperation in this regard.
He further said that displaced families have been provided with emergency aids in most of provinces of the country as Nangarhar, Faryab, Helmand, Farah, Takhar, Kunduz and Balkh, adding that the international community and finance ministry should provide necessary budget for establishment of temporary camps and providing emergency aids to displaced families.
Minister of refugees and repatriate asserted that 257,313 families have been displaced since the starting of 2019, while 8,260 families have returned their home villages.
In the meeting, chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah instructed all relevant organs to provide emergency aids to all displaced families, asking all the international partners to provide necessary assistance and facilitations to the displaced families.
At the end, the country’s chief executive stressed that all relevant organs should jointly work to provide necessary facilitations to families who have returned home.
