Alexa reveals new ranking for Afghan media

KABUL: Khaama Press new agency based in Kabul, Afghanistan has been ranked top by Alexa, the world’s number one SEO and marketing analytical tool, a local news agency reported.
Alexa’s recent indication shows that Khaama Press, Tolonews, Etilaat e Roz, Hasht-e-Subh, Radio Azadi, Ariana News, VOA, 1sada, Pajhwok, Pasbanan, Baztab News, Subhe Kabul, Salam Watandar, 1TV News and Ufuq News are respectively the top 15 media websites in Afghanistan which have the most number of visitors both locally and worldwide.
According to the report, the top 3 most-visited news and media websites in Afghanistan are Khaama Press, Tolonews and Etilaat-e-Roz.
Khaama Press is ranked 8th in Afghanistan and 13,916 worldwide. Tolonews is ranked 9th in Afghanistan and ranked 16,732 globally. Etilaat e Roz is another most-read Persian newspaper in Afghanistan which is ranked 12th in Afghanistan and 25,159 in the world.

Meanwhile, acting Minister of Information and Culture Mohammad Tahir Zuhair congratulated the news agency on topping the Alexa ranking and reiterated ministry’s support for press and freedom of expression in the country.
In a tweet NATO civilian representative in Afghanistan also congratulated the news agency, saying Afghanistan’s vibrant media environment is key to lasting peace and security and one of the significant gains of the last two decades with support from NATO and the international community.
Khaama Press, established in 2010 is now one of the leading news agencies in Afghanistan with a widely presence online and in social media platforms.
