KABUL: In a ceremony held on World Refugee Day at the Chief Executive Office, Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said that our people have been suffering since forty years, during which we have witnessed the country’s destruction, disability and immigration of millions of Afghans, Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported the other day.
Besides, we have been witnessing the international community and international entities’ cooperation with the government and people of Afghanistan, he added.
He thanked the donor countries and entities who are working to address the refugees’ problems.
He pointed out that Afghans’ hard days will finish and we all will finally witness tranquility and development in the country, BNA added.
Unfortunately, due to insecurities and natural disasters, a number of our people have sought refuge in other countries or displaced inside the country in which the government is committed to continue cooperation with them, CE Abdullah went on to say.
He added war and insecurity are the key factors that cause people’s immigration, thus, peace is a priority to Afghanistan.
Efforts are ongoing to pave the way for peace restoration in the country and we support the US efforts in this respect, Dr. Abdullah continued.
He stated that immigration is a global phenomenon and world and mass cooperation is needed to address the refugees’ problems and we thank Iran and Pakistan that have hosted a huge part of Afghan refugees.
He also appreciated the US and international community cooperation in the respect.
