Afghanistan to purchase 70,000 tons of wheat from Kazakhstan

KABUL: The leadership meeting of the government chaired by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, was held yesterday afternoon at the presidential palace.

During the meeting, Mohammad Yousuf Ghazanfar, the President’s Special Representative for Economic Development, Trade and Poverty Reduction, was tasked with purchasing 70,000 tons of wheat from Kazakhstan in coordination with the Ministries of Industry, Trade and Finance, a statement from the presidential palace said. “Kazakhstan is ready to sell 500 kilowatts of electricity to Afghanistan,” said Mohammad Shaker Kargar, chief of staff for Office of the President. The meeting instructed the Ministries of Industry, Trade and Finance to plan for its implementation.

Similarly, the acting minister of Trade and Industry presented his clear plan to prevent the shortage of oil in the winter, which was approved and directed to him to begin his practical work in this area.
