However, Afghanistan is one of the biggest producers of pine nut in the region, but unfortunately, Afghani pine nut is indirectly exported by neighboring countries.
Chamber of commerce and industries’ CE Atiqullah Nasrat said however, Afghanistan is one of the biggest producers of pine nut in the region, but unfortunately, our pine nut is exported to abroad through the neighboring countries.
He added an Afghani factory has prepared 3000 tons of pine nut to export to China.
According to the ministry of agriculture, irrigation and livestock’s figures, annually, 23000 tons of pine nut are produced in Afghanistan.
Presidential advisory office on banking affairs says three air corridors would soon be opened with Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou cities of China to export Afghanistan’s goods to that country.
Sameer Rasa, head of Public Relations Office of the Senior Advisor to President in Banking and Finance said Afghanistan and China signed an agreement on exporting Afghan pine nuts to that country a year ago, but so far, the ground has not been paved for its implementation.
Rasa said that government is ready to open the air corridors with China which will help Afghan investors to export pine nuts directly to China.
He said they were about to sign an agreement with an airline company to transfer Afghan pine nuts to Chinese cities. 
“This (exporting pine nuts through air corridors) depends on preparedness of our investors. We have completed the contract and are about to sign it with an airline company. If our investors are ready, we will open air corridors with China cities in the near future to start pine nuts exports,” said Rasa. 
Officials said the Ministry of Economy has prepared an outline titled “Productive Afghanistan” which predicts that Afghanistan’s revenues from pine nuts will increase to $1 billion annually – if pine nuts smuggling to Pakistan stops.
Based on assessments of the Ministry of Economy, government will earn almost $2 billion annually from selling pine nuts, given that processing centers and modern packaging facilities are established in the country.
According to Ministry of Economy, Afghanistan’s total export value is around $800 million annually. 
Pine nut sellers are saying that pine nut’s price has recently been considerably increased and our people are not able to buy that.
According to them, during the past years, we were selling 15 kg pine nut each day, but now, we cannot sell only a kg during a day. Dried fruits sellers are saying the government of Afghanistan should pay heed in the respect, because, pine nut has good market in and abroad.
