‘Afghanistan-Iran relations going on based on joint values’

KABUL: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in a meeting with the newly appointed Iranian Ambassador to Afghanistan, Bahadur Aminian, said relation between the two countries was based on amity and common values, said a statement from the CE office, the other day. Dr. Abdullah wished the new Iranian ambassador a successful mission during his stay to Kabul, terming Iran one of his country’s strategic allies and close friends and thanked its long cooperation with Afghanistan, said the statement from the Spidar Palace reached to The Kabul Times. Mr. Aminian called security in Afghanistan stability of his country and said both Afghanistan and Iran’s relations were based on the joint historical and cultural relations and added that during his mission, he will do his best to further develop relations between the two countries. Both sides also exchanged views on the presidential election, efforts to access peace and bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Iran.
