KABUL: On Thursday April 22nd, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan had the honor of establishing diplomatic relations with the Commonwealth of Dominica through a Joint Communiqué.
The document was signed in New York by H.E. Ambassador Adela Raz, Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations, and H.E. Ambassador Loreen Ruth Bannis-Roberts, Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations, in representation of their respective governments. The Joint Communiqué stresses the importance of establishing a bilateral partnership between the states for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and for exchanging experiences and expertise on resilience. It further underscored the motivation of both states to adhere to the global ideals set out in the United Nations Charter on expanding friendly relations between Member States.
During the signing ceremony, Ambassador Raz rejoiced over translating the strong relations between both delegations in New York to a commitment that could benefit the growth and development of both nations.
For her part, Ambassador Bannis-Roberts shared Ambassador Raz’s points and underscored her hope for the expansion of cooperation between Afghanistan and Dominica.
