KABUL: Afghanistan played Singapore in a friendly match that ended in a 1-1 draw on Saturday night ahead of the qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
The match was held in Dubai in the UAE, and Quak scored the first goal at 40 minutes in the first half to put Singapore 1-0 ahead.
Zubair Amiri scored at 85 minutes for Afghanistan, leveling the score.
Five days ago, Afghanistan beat 3-2 Indonesia in a friendly match that was also held in the UAE.
Afghanistan will face Bangladesh on Thursday in Qatar for a qualifying match for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup match.
Afghanistan’s team will leave the UAE today for Qatar, according to officials from Afghanistan’s Football Federation.
The team held a training camp to prepare for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup matches.
