Afghanistan champions league: Istiqlal defeats Khost

KABUL: Kabul’s Istiqlal defeated Khost’s Atalan team 3-0 in the third match of Afghanistan Champions League on Saturday.
The match witnessed multiple opportunities for Istiqlal that finally they could score three times.
Jawad Jamalzad, the head coach of Kabul’s Istiqlal, the Khost team was ready to at least draw the match, but they were not allowed by his team.
“We still have some problem in hitting the goals, but it will be solved in the trainings,” he said.
On Sunday, Kabul’s Istiqlal team will face Parwan’s Jabal Siraj in today’s match of the tournament which will kick off at 4pm am local time.
The league began in Kabul last week.
12 teams from six zones are competing in the league, and the matches will be held in Kabul, Herat and Balkh provinces.
The first round of the league began in Kabul, with a kick-off at 4pm local time, according to Afghanistan’s Football Federation.
AFF said that the champion of this year’s league competition will represent Afghanistan in the Asian competitions “If it can meet the necessary criteria of a professional club.”
The clubs competing in the league are: Khost’s Cloub Atalan, Parwan’s Jabal Siraj, Laghman’s Jawanan, Kabul’s Istiqlal, Herat’s Sorkh Poshan, Helmand’s Esmat Laghmani, Farah’s Abu Muslim, Takhar’s Mawj Sahel, Kandahar’s Aino Mina, Sar-e-Pul’s Khadim FC, Kunduz’s Wahidy and Faryab’s Khurasan.
