Afghan Govt., EU discuss human rights, governance & immigration

KABUL: Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani officially inaugurated Afghan government and European Union exclusive working group’s second meeting on human rights, governance and immigration, Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported the other day.
According to the agency, the meeting called human rights’ discussions in post-dispute countries important and stressed on supporting Afghan government on enhancing human rights’ debates and reviewing the progress on commitments mentioned in cooperation and partnership agreement between the government of Afghanistan and EU.
The meeting was also attended by First Lady Rula Ghani and some other Afghan and foreign officials.
During the meeting, the working groups discussed issues on human rights (women rights, children rights, freedom of speech), governance (rule of law, fighting corruption and elections) and immigration.
