KABUL: NATO-led Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan on Wednesday said it continued support for Afghan security forces to mitigate COVID-19 spread while ensuring security.
Over the last two weeks, Resolute Support helped provide critical supplies to Afghan security forces in 14 provinces, the mission said in a statement.
The supplies included more than 63,000 masks, over 31,000 pairs of gloves, more than 35,000 bottles of sanitizers and disinfectants, thousands of sets of personal protective equipment for medical providers and patients, more than 3,000 sets of protective eyewear and dozens of infrared thermometers.
The mission said police and army units in Panjshir, Parwan, Nuristan, Herat, Ghor, Farah, Baghdis, Kabul, Nimroz, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul and Daikundi and Helmand were better equipped to protect themselves and continue their important missions.
