KABUL: UN Secretary General’s Special Representative and UNAMA chief Tadamichi Yamamoto said Afghan delegation’s visit led by Dr. Hamdullah Mohib to New York was full of achievements, a statement from National Security Council said.
Meeting that National Security Adviser (NSA) Mohib in Kabul, the UN official said Afghan delegation could deliver a clear message to the world and the UN General Assembly.
Thanking Yamamoto, NSA Mohib praised UN active role in Afghanistan, saying had asked the mission’s continued role and work in Afghanistan during a meeting with the secretary general António Guterres, the statement quoted him as saying.
Meanwhile UNAMA chief congratulated successful holding of presidential election, saying the process was transparent and held differently from previous elections and praised Afghan forces role, the statement added.
The NSA also said Afghan forces foiled enemies’ vicious plans and their efforts for security of the polls showed their capabilities and commitment toward the country, the statement concluded as saying.
