KABUL: The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) in a statement on Saturday called on the Afghan government, particularly the Ministry of Interior, to take solid actions to ensure the safety and security of the business community in the country.
“Kidnapping— and attempted killing—of investors and businessmen has increased in the country. It is a matter of grave concern and the government needs to take action,” said the statement.
“The Ministry of Commerce and Industries and the Ministry of Interior should define a comprehensive and working strategy in consultation with the ACCI as soon as possible to ensure the safety of life and property in the business community,” the statement said.
Meanwhile a number of traders and investors complaining about lack of the security and their safety, asking government and the security organs to do more to protect them.
