KABUL: The Islamic Emirate has provided up to 1.2 million U.S. dollar in cash assistance for the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), as it has failed to receive the fund directly from the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to technical banking problems, over the past 14 months, the CEO said Friday.
“As there were numerous obstacles and challenges in the banking and accounting systems of Afghanistan, we couldn’t receive the budget issued by international Cricket Council (ICC) in the last 14 months,” Naseeb Khan the CEO of Afghanistan Cricket Board said on his official Facebook account.
“The Islamic Emirate has provided the amount of 1.2 million U.S. dollar for the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) enabling the board to easily arrange its domestic tournaments such as Shpageeza League, Green Afghanistan Cup, Ahmad Shah Abdali and Ghazi Amanullah Khan teams,” Khan added.
He added that the ACB has been frequently holding meetings with the ICC to resolve the issue.
Pointing to the new and main sponsor of the Afghan National Cricket Team he said that the Super Cola company has got the sponsorship rights for the NCT in IECC Men’s T20i Cricket World Cup 2022.
