52 new COVID-19 cases tested positive in Afghanistan

KABUL: The Ministry of Public Health announced on Sunday that 52 people, mostly in the capital Kabul have been tested positive for coronavirus.

“28 cases in Kabul, eight cases in Kandahar, eight in Herat, seven in Balkh, four in Bamyan, two in Paktia, one in Helmand and one each in Helmand and Nangarhar provinces, bringing the total number to 607 cases countrywide,” Dr. Wahidullah Mayar, the spokesman of the ministry of public health said in a statement released to media.

One death has also been reported in Logar province taking the tally to 19 cases, said the spokesman. A patient recovered today (Sunday) aged 62 is a Kabul resident, with the total number reaching to 38, according to the source.
