VP Danesh chairs laws committee meeting

KABUL: Chaired by Second Vice President Sarwar Danesh, laws committee’s meeting was held yesterday. In the meeting, draft regulation on management of tasks of the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHe) and modification of a number of articles of law on tasks of officers and code of conduct were reviewed and discussed. Pointing to agenda of the meeting, second vice president and head of the laws committee spoke and considered preparing and processing of more than 450 legislative documents during the term of national unity government as a valuable step, hoping the process would continue in coming government. In the meeting, draft regulation on management of tasks of the MoHE was discussed. Delivering the draft regulation to the meeting, minister of justice said that the respective draft regulation has been prepared based on approval of the cabinet meeting.
Consolidation of rule of law, sound leadership, management process of the MoHE activities for improvement of higher education system, paving the way for capacity building and effective academic researches in government and private higher education institutions, improvement in appointment process and implementation of administrative reforms have been introduced as goals of the draft regulation.
After discussion and reviewing the draft regulation, members of the laws committee by delivering their suggestions regarding the draft approved it and the ministry of justice was instructed to include suggestions of the committee’s members in the draft with close cooperation of the MoHE and deliver it to cabinet meeting for further processing.
