Foreign minister meets managing director of EEAS for Asia and Pacific

KABUL: Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani met with Managing Director of European External Action Service for Asia and Pacific Mr. Gunnar Wiegand, Bakhtar News Agency reported on Wednesday.
According to the agency, Mr. Wiegand called internal consensus, ownership and leadership of the Afghan people and government on the peace process, and role of the world and regional countries very important in reaching peace.
Focusing on the preservation of the achievements made over the past 18 years, Mr. Wiegand emphasized on Europe’s comprehensive support for peace.
During the meeting, Minister Rabbani also appreciated Europe’s assistances to Afghanistan.
Furthermore, both sides discussed transparent elections, rule of law, human rights, security, and stability in Afghanistan.
