KABUL: A research and scientific seminar was held on the occasion of the 660th birth anniversary of Queen Gawharshad Bigum, by the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Culture, in Kabul, Bakhtar News Agency said Tuesday.
Addressing the meeting, the Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Hasina Safi enumerated some of the queen’s works and acts and said that Gawharshad Bigum or Gawharshad Agha was one of the country’s wise personality.
She said Queen Gawharshad was one of the country’s renowned, benefactor, art-loving, dignified, wise and one of the Timurid era’s wise women, that agency quoted.
According to her, Queen Gawharshad had distinct works during the past different eras, among them moving capital from Samarqand to Herat, paying serious attention to the infrastructures building, particularly historical construction as well as she believed education was the main pillar of a country’s stability.
She advised the country’s women to follow her honor and prestigious works, as she had important role in the country’s history, the agency quoted.
Deputy Minister of Information and Culture on Art and Culture Prof. Mohammad Rassoul Bawary also spoke in the meeting and said Queen Gawharshad was one of the country’s protagonists and honorable women and thanked the writers for their efforts to write scientific and research topics about the personality of the queen.
