Elders thank President for Ghanikhel visit

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with a number of elders and influential figures of Shinwar tribe here at the presidential palace the other day, a statement said yesterday.
Representing others, Haji Osman thanked President for his trip to Ghanikhel district and gave the title of ‘lion’ for the president for his bravery and courage. He said that the president fulfilled his commitments for elimination of Daesh militants and asked him that once again visit the Shinwar so that to be warmly welcomed by the local residents, the statement from presidential press office added.
Praising Shinwar and Momand tribes support of the Afghan National Defense and Security forces in fight against Daesh, the president said, ‘Afghans are proud of your bravery and heroism.’
The president instructed ministries of defense and interior and the NDS to take steps in line with people’s consultation for security of the area. The president also instructed ministry of finance to reconstruct the damaged houses, schools and Masjids, the statement added.
According to another report, President Ghani met a number of elders and influential figures of Kapisa province here in his office the other day, the presidential statement said yesterday. The elders praised role of the public uprising forces in support of the ANDSF, saying the forces needed to be further equipped and the problems of martyrs’ families should be addressed.
They also asked president’s attention for construction of the schools, hospitals, Masjids, highways, extending electricity to the province and maintaining security.
President thanked Kapisa people’s support and efforts for security, instructed security organs to equip public uprising forces and address issues of the martyrs’ families.
Assuring people to address their demands, the president said Kapisa would once again achieve its glory, the statement concluded.
